Jahorina has turned white overnight! During the past few nights, the mountain has put on its first real winter coat – about 25 centimeters of fresh snow fell, bringing joy to skiers, hikers, and all lovers of mountain serenity. The cold cyclone that swept across the region over the last few days brought a true taste of winter — much earlier than expected.
Once again, Jahorina has revealed its magical winter charm. At elevations above 1,700 meters, the trees are already covered in frost, and the air is crystal clear. Night temperatures dropped to -4°C, while a gentle breeze amplified the sense of chill and freshness that skiers crave.
Winter scenes aren’t limited to Jahorina – snow has also covered the peaks of Bjelašnica, Zlatibor, and Kopaonik, while in the Alps, glacier resorts such as Hintertux and Zermatt are already in full swing, with slopes open year-round. Still, what makes Jahorina special is its unique blend of accessibility and genuine mountain spirit – just half an hour from Sarajevo, yet it feels as if you’re thousands of kilometers away, surrounded by silence and endless snow.
Although it’s still autumn, everything looks — and feels — like winter, and in grand style.
