Jahorina has revived another important part of its Olympic heritage with the reopening of the upper section of the legendary Olympic Downhill ski slope, famous for hosting the women’s downhill event during the 1984 Winter Olympics.
After more than four decades, skiers once again have the opportunity to experience one of the mountain’s most iconic and technically demanding runs. Stretching approximately 1,600 metres, the Olympic Downhill has long been regarded as one of Jahorina’s most historic ski slopes.
The reopening allows visitors to ski on the same terrain where Olympic champions once competed, offering a unique combination of sporting history and modern skiing. While the slope is well known for its challenging profile, it has now been prepared to welcome both experienced skiers and advanced recreational enthusiasts looking to enjoy an authentic Olympic experience.

The restoration was made possible through continued investment in modern snow grooming equipment and ski infrastructure, ensuring excellent slope conditions while preserving the mountain’s rich sporting legacy.
Today, Jahorina continues to honour its Olympic past while offering world-class skiing, modern facilities, and unforgettable winter experiences, making it one of the leading mountain destinations in Southeast Europe.
