The traditional “DiplomatSKI” giant slalom race took place on Jahorina, bringing together 60 participants from the diplomatic corps, international organizations, the business sector, and civil society.

The competition was organized in collaboration with the Olympic Center “Jahorina” and the Embassy of Slovenia, continuing the tradition of connecting sports, diplomacy, and friendship.

This year’s edition of the race was officially opened by the Slovenian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Damijan Sedar, who emphasized that “DiplomatSKI” is being held for the fourth time. He expressed his gratitude to the management of the Olympic Center “Jahorina” for their successful cooperation and contribution to the development of the mountain, as stated by the Slovenian Embassy.

“Bosnia and Herzegovina is a beautiful country with plenty of opportunities for various sports. We support an active and healthy lifestyle. The participants of the ‘DiplomatSKI’ race are sending a message of peace, which is especially important in today’s times. Skiing should bring us closer together, strengthen friendships, and encourage cooperation,” said Sedar.

A special attraction at this year’s race was the presence of *Kurenti* from Slovenia, traditional figures of Slovenian cultural heritage. With their distinctive sounds and energetic dance, they symbolically bid farewell to winter and welcomed the arrival of spring.

“Kurenti are a regular presence at skiing competitions, and here as well, they cheered on the participants, encouraged the racers, and created a unique atmosphere among the spectators,” added Sedar.
